The Spanish pianist Carolina Rodríguez de Guzmán studied at the "Conservatorio Superior de Música de Aragón“  (Zaragoza) with Iván Citera.

Her musical path led her to Düsseldorf in 2010, where she worked with Prof. Boguslaw Jan Strobel.  In 2014, Carolina completed the Masters degree at the Musik-Akademie Basel in the soloists’ class of Ronald Brautigam. She also deepened her knowledge of Lieder with Jan Schultsz.

Following her solo debut in Baden-Württemberg (Germany) in 2004, she performed at numerous

music festivals including the "Internationale Euregio Rhein-Waal Studentenmusikfestival“ (Germany).

Carolina’s interest in vocal repertoire grew during her studies, and led her to initiate various projects together with singers. This list includes a vocal/piano duo that she founded together with the soprano Anna Gössi, which performs a wide repertoire of Lieder in many different languages and styles.  As winners of the "Internationaler Othmar Schoeck – Wettbewerb für Lied-Duo“ in 2016, they were invited to give recitals throughout Switzerland and Germany. Carolina took part in the "Cully Clasique Festival“ in 2013, where she worked together with Julius Drake and Helmut Deutsch, among others. She took part of the Berlin Opera Academy as a collaborative pianist and performed Don Giovanni, directed by Martin Lakomicki and under the musical direction of Kevin Class in Berlin in 2019.

In addition to her solo playing and collaboration with vocalists, Carolina has a tremendous passion for chamber music, especially for duos, enjoying a close and detailed musical work. She has been involved in numerous chamber music ensembles since her studies, both as a collaborative pianist and as a member of various duos, including the Kados Duo with pianist Carlos Gil-Gonzalo, the Zyan Duo with cellist Beatriz Balboa, and the Lied Duo Gössi – Rodríguez with Swiss soprano Anna Gössi.

Since 2016 she has been teaching piano at the Musikschule Bantiger in the canton of Bern, as well as giving private lessons in Basel.
For her, artistic practice and pedagogy are two inseparable pillars of her musical identity, enriching one another and enabling her to work with students in a holistic way. Just as voices interact in a song duo, she understands teaching as a dialogical process in which she draws on her extensive stage experience to accompany musicians on their individual paths. For her, teaching piano is therefore not merely an occupation, but the logical and fulfilling extension of her artistic work.
